Brenden Lee

Founder, SearchX Capital Corp

Brenden founded SearchX after a decade of private equity and business ownership experience. He has completed over 15 deals across the middle-market, succession and large cap sectors. In addition, he brings 8 years experience as a founder and CEO - leading teams, products and sales - from deals as small as $10,000 to into the multiple millions. Alongside business, he has an equal passion for hospitality, team & community building.

Andrew Tai

Andrew built Motoinsight from just an idea to becoming a market leader, to being successfully acquired. Andrew currently leads Sanfina, which is an entrepreneurial investment firm and venture studio that invests its own proprietary capital.

Sanfina’s experience spans a lot of different company stages: founding and growing organically from zero to $20M revenue at Motoinsight, scaling to a $100M revenue software business at AutoSync through M&A, and c-level operating experience in a $300M revenue marketplace business at TRADER Corp.

David Au-Yeung

Founder of Flipp
Managing Partner at CXP Capital

David co-founded Flipp, where he scaled the company to over 9-digits revenue, 400+ employees, resulting in a successful exit in 2023. David also co-founded Carity.ai, an automotive-focused AI platform. David now leads CXP Capital Partners, which is a privately-held investment firm that invests in small to medium-size businesses to help them scale.

CXP’s capital and capabilities are based on the experience gained from building, scaling and exiting Flipp - building it from the ground up to an eventual 9 figure exit.

Scott Nishi

With Summit Ridge Capital, Scott ran Bullet Trade Services before the sale to a private equity investor in June 2023. Scott is currently active on the board of Summit Water and Mainway Metalworks. Prior to Summit Ridge, Scott led Canada Pension Plan Investment Board’s consumer/retail direct private equity team, serving on the Board of Neiman Marcus.

Scott has a wife and two teenage girls. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family, coaching hockey, and playing tennis.

Sidney Sommer

Founder, UCIT (Stealth Monitoring)

Sidney founded UCIT Online Security, growing into the largest live video monitoring company in the US and Canada. Today, UCIT is a dominant force in manufacturing, industrial, commercial, property management, and construction security. In 2016 UCIT acquired Stealth Monitoring, a Dallas-based security company and in 2019, re-branded as Stealth Monitoring. Stealth built 40 offices across 4 countries with over 2,000 employees. In 2024, Stealth joined GardaWorld Security Corporation, with a mission to create a global champion in AI-enabled mobile and fixed video monitoring security solutions.

BRENDEN LEE

I grew up in Vancouver BC, 1 of 6 kids – the grandson of Arthur Smith
and Ark Haim Lee, pioneers who moved from Winnipeg To Vancouver
and Hong Kong to Vancouver to create jobs, communities and families.

They, along with my dad, mom and brothers, taught me the value of building things and helping those around me. Today, my wife and I live in Toronto. We serve a local church and each run our own companies. We believe in supporting families and living out the values of grit, pioneering and generosity.

SearchX is the extension of my family to yours - a commitment to entrepreneurship, resilience and creating large futures for those around us.

Professionally, I have completed over 15 deals across the middle-market, succession and large cap sectors. In addition, I bring 8 years experience as a founder and CEO - leading teams, products and sales - from deals as small as $10,000 to into the multiple millions. Outside of business, you’ll catch me playing sports, traveling, curating R&B/dance playlists and working on creative projects.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Texas, Vac-One is a leading provider of essential sub surface infrastructure services. The company’s service offerings include hydro excavation, air vacuum excavation, and cathodic protection. Vac-One’s customers include contractors, municipalities, industrial, energy and utility companies, servicing the US Gulf Coast, Midwest & Rocky Mountain Regions. In 2022, Vac-One became part of Pro-Vac. Pro-Vac is an advanced full service storm/sewer maintenance and environmental service company, in operation for over 30 years.

Plenty is a boutique nanny agency serving families across greater Toronto and Canada. Plenty helps families source and hire nannies that are suited for their homes and needs. Plenty does all the heavy lifting, from combing platforms to managing postings, interviewing and finally to helping you hire the right fit. Plenty is also available for other house-hold management staffing needs for busy executives.

Consumer & Business Services

Based in Toronto, Starters is a last mile food & technology company designed to empower local commerce. From 2018-2022, Starters developed and offered five digitally-native restaurant brands for pick-up and delivery, serving customers across multiple locations throughout the GTA. The company pioneered ghost kitchens in Canada, and developed unique partnerships, bringing innovative meals and food delivery models to market with large scale grocery chains & real estate companies.
